Program Topics:

Federal Law Update & Review – The EEOC received 93,277 workplace discrimination charges during 2009, the second highest level ever, with resulting monetary relief in the hundreds of millions. Private sector job bias charges alleging discrimination based on disability, religion and/or national origin hit record highs. Charges alleging age-based discrimination reached the second-highest level ever. Continuing a decade-long trend, the most frequently filed charges alleged discrimination based on race, retaliation, and sex-based discrimination. We will bring you the latest developments in the federal laws enforced by the EEOC, including the newest ingredient in the alphabet soup: GINA, which became effective in November 2009.

Washington State Law Update & Review – We will provide road maps to help you apply Washington's newest laws, guiding you on how to manage attendance under Washington's new leave laws, the interplay of family leave and disability leave laws, and other recent legal developments impacting credit unions.

Speed Bumps – Are you really ready for hiring? Should you use social networking sites for any reason? How can you legally verify employment qualification? When did you last update your job application form? Are you properly classifying workers? Have you had to deal with a perfume/scent sensitive employee issue? Every road has its challenges and we'll cover the latest trends, plus take your questions.
