Kelly Tilden Quoted in Credit Union Journal Articles on Medical Marijuana

5/6/2013

As the number of states approving medical marijuana use increases, so do the risks for employment issues. Farleigh Wada Witt employment attorney Kelly Tilden was featured in three Credit Union Journal articles regarding medical marijuana use and the employment challenges it presents in the April 15, 2013 issue.

Many employers do not have policies in place for addressing the use of medical marijuana. The Credit Union Journal articles discuss the confusion employers have due to differing state and federal laws, how important it is for HR personnel to get well versed in the various laws and stay abreast of the changes based on case law, and how to ensure the workplace is safe with clear policies, testing and reasonable suspicion training.
